  1. I should point out that I, the writer and maintainer of this blog, am not the poet. I am an English translator of the poet, and I hold the post of Hebraic and Judaic Studies at Lehman College, the 4-year senior college of CUNY in the Bronx. I believe Rivka counts me as one of her friends as well as an admirer of her poetry, and I am honored that she does so. The poet herself does read, write and understand English, but English is not her native language. She gave me permission to post her recordings on this site, but she does not visit it regularly. When readers of this blog have kind words to say about Rivka, her work and/or her late husband, I make sure to inform her.

  2. It will make Rivka happy to hear you enjoy it. And perhaps you can look at it a wee bit differently now that you know its creator was the enabler and life-partner of a very fine Yiddish poet.

I am very happy to have one of your husband’s paintings in my collection. It is one of my favorites.

    Best wishes,

    Kevin Daniel
